Saint Agatha Foundation partners with local hospitals and agencies to provide financial support to breast cancer patients in Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Jefferson, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Otsego, Oswego, and Saint Lawrence Counties in Central New York. With support from Saint Agatha Foundation, uninsured and under-insured patients can focus on treatment, rather than their bills.
What Our Funding Covers
The Foundation partners with hospitals and healthcare providers to pay for a wide range of breast cancer treatment and recovery-related costs including:

Medications not covered by insurance
Medical office visits & procedural co-payments
Wound care systems
Alternative treatments not covered by insurance

We give grants directly to our partner hospitals and healthcare providers, so if you’re a patient, please contact one of our partner locations for more information on how they can assist with your medical bills.
The funds are intended primarily to assist the uninsured and the under-insured and should be accessed only when medical insurance coverage does not apply. The following organizations partner with Saint Agatha Foundation and can assist in providing financial assistance for care. The organization determines each patient’s need.
Auburn Community Hospital (ACH) provides care for patients in Cayuga County and surrounding communities. The goal of ACH’s “We Care” program, which is funded by Saint Agatha Foundation, is to reduce the financial stress for breast patients.

Chenango Health Network is a rural health network whose objectives are to increase access to health and wellness information and to health care services. Saint Agatha Foundation delivers support to Chenango Health Network to provide financial assistance to breast cancer patients, particularly the uninsured and underinsured.

Cortland Memorial Foundation administers the “Hope Now” breast cancer program that provides financial assistance funded by Saint Agatha Foundation. This program assists with expenses such as treatments, procedures or testing, medical office co-payments, lymphedema supplies, prostheses, and camisoles and bras. The Breast Cancer Care Program at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center (GCMC) offers coordinated, compassionate care to proactively manage a patient’s diagnosis and treatment program. GCMC provides a comprehensive range of services that includes prevention/screening including digital mammography and stereotactic biopsy, surgical care, infusion therapy, and post-operative recovery including physical rehabilitation. The Confident Woman Boutique is a local source for post-mastectomy products and lymphedema supplies.

The Breast Care Center offers patients understandable, practical advice about being newly diagnosed with breast cancer. The Center provides educational programs on breast health throughout the year and individual consultations that include information for post-operative care and therapy. The Center also carries post-mastectomy products in the private setting of the Perfect Fit Boutique.

With funding from Saint Agatha Foundation, Oswego Hospital supports, educates, and guides patients and their family members through the complex journey of a breast cancer diagnosis. Caring, trained professional staff members will assess, develop, and implement individualized care plans that best fit the needs of each patient. In addition, Oswego Health facilitates two breast cancer support meetings every month.

Rome Health provides quality healthcare with compassion. The hospital’s Women’s Imaging Center is proud to have been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology. Saint Agatha Foundation grant funding provides support for a financial assistance program for breast cancer patients who cannot afford the direct and indirect costs associated with their disease.

The Circle of Hope Cancer program at Samaritan Medical Center Foundation provides funds toward improving the health and well-being of cancer patients throughout Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence
counties. Program funds provide direct financial assistance to patients who require cancer treatment and who need financial support while receiving medical care for their cancer diagnosis. Saint Agatha Foundation partners with the Circle of Hope program to support breast cancer patients.

The UHS Foundation’s mission is to support innovation, service and quality at UHS by educating the community, attracting donors and managing gifts wisely. In partnership with Saint Agatha Foundation, the UHS Breast Center Cancer Patient Support Program provides financial assistance to UHS breast cancer patients who are struggling financially while battling breast cancer. The fund assists with monthly bills, medical costs not covered by insurance and other financial burdens that arise.
